Connection test

We kindly ask you to check that you meet all technical requirements of the conference system. This is particularly important if you plan to use the Ask Live feature. The requirements include a good internet connection, a supported internet browser, and sound and video check. Please especially make sure that you are using a supported browser. Mozilla Firefox is NOT supported. Please perform a quick Connection test, accessible from your Personal page. Follow the instructions in the diagram below.

Exploring the program

All times across the platform are in the CEST time zone.

You can explore the program through the Program Overview or the Detailed Program, both accessible from the Program menu. By clicking on a presentation, you can read a detailed description and view the uploaded on-demand materials. You can interact with the author and other participants through text messages under the Discussions tab.

You can save the talks you are planning to watch to your Personal Program by clicking the heart icon.

Live stream

Enter the live stream through LIVE STREAM or, alternatively, through the Detailed Program by clicking the LIVE button next to the session that is currently live. You can type short questions to be asked during the Q&A through the Questions tab in the live stream. The questions will be selected and asked by the chair. In the plenary, keynote, and workshop talks, you can also ask directly using your microphone and camera by clicking the Ask Live button. Note that this button is enabled by the session chair and it is not always visible. Once the session chair invites you to the live stream, you can ask your question. To make sure that your computer is correctly configured for that, please do in advance the Connection test, accessible from your Personal page. Note that the stream you were watching before asking the question is delayed, so you will be transported in time 10-20 seconds forward when admitted as an active participant to ask your question in the live stream. Once you return to the video stream for the audience, you can hear the last 10-20 seconds of your question. For all other participants, the video stream is fluent without any repetitions.

Meet the speaker after session

After technical sessions, you can enter break-out rooms, called MEET THE SPEAKER AFTER SESSION rooms in the program. These rooms enable the speakers and audience to continue a discussion after the session is finished (as it is often the case at an in-person conference). These breakout rooms can be accessed via Detailed program as shown below. Meet Speaker Room In the information window of the presentation, the room is displayed in the Virtual rooms tab. The Enter button is enabled at the scheduled time. Meet Speaker Room Entry These virtual rooms remain open for 20 minutes. If you need to attend the next session, feel free to leave the break-out room earlier.

Posters can be viewed either in the Detailed Program or from the Posters page. In the poster details, you can view the poster and the accompanying materials. Communication with the authors is facilitated through textual Discussions.

For most posters, there is a live poster room where the authors explain the poster and answer questions from the audience in a video chat with up to 25 participants. The poster rooms can be accessed in the scheduled time through the ROOMS button next to each poster. Posters as shown below. Poster Room In the information window of the poster, the room is displayed in the Virtual rooms tab. The Enter button is enabled at the scheduled time. Poster Room Entry In the virtual room, watch the timer at the bottom. Once the scheduled time expires, the room closes automatically.

The networking feature enables you to connect with any conference participant. The contacted person decides if they want to network with you. No contact detail or personal information is shared between the two sides and the communication is managed on the virtual platform only. Networking is available through clicking on your name in the top right corner, selecting Personal page, and then clicking on Networking on the left. On the networking page, you can enter the name (or select the contact from the list) and compose your message or reply to messages.

Contacting technical support

The technical support is available through HELPDESK. Use the Chat or Videochat tab to communicate directly with the support team. Your question will be added to the support queue and the support team will reply as soon as possible. You can leave the chat and return to it at any time. You can have the chat open in a separate browser window while still watching the live stream or visiting other parts of the online event.
